What Is the Universe?
The universe is a combination of space, matter, time, and energy. The universe comes into existence 13.8 billion years ago. The event after which the universe comes into existence was Big Bang. The universe is expanding from this time.
The matter of the universe is bound by gravity. The shape of the universe depends on the density of the matter.
If the density is in the right amount, the universe will be flat like a paper. If the density is high, the universe will be like a sphere. If the density is low, the universe will be open-ended, which does not have an edge or center.

The universe has 5% Matter, 68% Dark Energy and 27% Dark Matter. 5% of the matter is made up of 75% of hydrogen, 23% of helium, and 2% Other elements.

Our solar system is 9 billion km wide. If the earth was the size of a football, it will take 5 days to walk across the solar system, and it will take 58 years of walking to reach the nearest star Proxima Centauri.
Every star lives in a group called Galaxy. Our galaxy is Milky Way.
Every galaxy also lives in a group called Cluster. Our cluster is Local Group.
Every cluster is part of a group called Supercluster. Our supercluster is Virgo Supercluster.
And all these superclusters make a Universe.
There is another theory which says there can be more universes like ours, and then it will be Multiverse.
